We continue our list of today’s top betting picks with another big game from the German Bundesliga as Borussia Monchengladbach take on Red Bull Leipzig. Both teams have had their ups and downs despite being so early in the season. Red Bull recently appointed a new coach in Marco Rose and that seems to have given them an instant boost as they went on to beat Borrussia Dortmund by 3:0 in a game where we accurately predicted Over 2.50 goals. However, they lost their next game, but it was against Real Madrid in the Champions League. What could we expect from their visit to Gladbach this time?
The Red Bulls did lose against Real, but who doesn’t, especially in the Champions League?! RBL created at least five excellent opportunities to score, but they just failed to find the back of the net. I watched the game, and they were actually the better side for the first 60 minutes and should have had at least a two goal lead. However, when you fail to convert your chances against the big guns, you end up getting burned and that’s exactly what happend to them. Bottom line is that Red Bull played a very good game against a great opponent. They are in pretty good form right now and look to be making a positive change under their new head coach.
A Strange Season At Gladbach
The sole bright start in Gladbach’s season thus far has been their goalkeeper, and that’s never a good sign. Yan Sommer is leading the Bundesliga in safes this year having made 38 stops (safes) in just six fixtures thus far. For a team that was playing Champions League football last year and challenging for the top in Germany, this is a really bad omen. Gladbach used to be playing excellent attacking brand of football, but they have been struggling mightly since parting ways with coach Marco Rose. They are now led by Daniel Farke who was last coaching Norwich City in the English Premier League. Farke was known for playing brave and positive football there, so he should be able to transfer those principles in his homeland based on the fact that the squad is of good quality and was previously having success.
Marcus Thuram, son of legendary French defender Lillian Thuram, is Gladbach’s leading scorer this year with three goals to his name. A big absentee is his strike partner Plea, and Embolo was sold to Monaco in the summer. However, Hoffman is still there and he is always looking to create chances.

Borussia Monchengladbach have failed to score in their last two matches – a 0:1 defeat at home against Mainz followed by a goalless draw at Freiburg last Sunday. That’s why we expect it’s time for them to get back on the scoresheet and score at least once today. Meanwhile, Red Bull are super dangerous going forward with Nkunku, who is one of the best young forwards in the game right now. Timo Werner is not to be understimated as well. A goal for RBL looks pretty much guaranteed, so our money is on both teams to score.
