Today’s Top Bet: Hungary v Netherlands Prediction

International football matches usually present us with excellent betting opportunities and today’s top bet is not different with our Hungary v Netherlands prediction. This is Group 3 of League A of the UEFA Nations League, where we have four really strong teams – Germany, Netherlands, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Hungary. After two rounds, Germany and the Netherlands are leading the group tied with 4 points, while Bosnia and Hungary have a point apiece. It has to be noted that for all the initial criticism, the UEFA Nations League has turned into a positive change, because it got rid of the boring friendly matches where teams had absolutely nothing to play for. Although here the stakes are not as high as in the Euros or the World Cup, the Nations League is still a decent tournament with plenty to play for as the winner qualifies directly for the next Euros, plus UEFA financial stimulus for all the participating nations.

Hungary, playing their second straight home game, are yet to score in this edition of the tournament. They crashed heavily against Germany going down by 5:0 in the opener. That big loss was followed by a goalless draw at home against Bosnia. Despite their early struggles, I firmly believe that Hungary are a very good football side, and they have some world-class players in Liverpool midfielder Szobbozlai, Galatasaray forward Sallai, and RBL defender Willi Orban.

Given that Hungary are yet to score and they are playing their second straight home game, my absolute best Hungary v Netherlands prediction is that the home team will get on the scoresheet. Plus, the local media is expecting their coach to field an attacking 4-3-3 lineup.

Expected Lineups

It’s interesting to point out that Hungary’s Italian head coach Marco Rossi is expected to replace Roland Sallai up front with Csoboth, as Sallai is not getting much playing time in Turkey. On the flip side, Koeman will mostly stick to his lineup that drew 2:2 with Germany in Amsterdam with the sole change of Hato replacing Ake at left back.

The positives about this Hungarian side are they’ve made tremendous progress in recent years. First, they almost reched the Final Four of the previous edition of the UEFA Nations League. Hungary won their qualifying group for Euro 2024 with a long unbeaten streak.

As per the Dutch, they are one of the best teams in Europe, and of course, one of my Hungary v Netherlands predictions is that they will score in this game. Gakpo and Xavi Simmons on the wings should produce plenty of chances for Ajax’s new hitman Brobbey.

Both Teams to Score @ 1.80
