Franck Ribery will miss the 2010 Champions League Final at Bernabeu as UEFA handed him a three-match ban for his harsh tackle in the first leg against Lyon. He received a direct red card for his act of insanity and today he UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body decided to suspend the France winger for three UEFA club competition games.
It’s a huge blow for both player and club as Bayern will be without one of their most talented and creative players on their entire team. Ribery is not having a good season at all as he is plagued by injuries all year long. There also constant speculations surrounding his future and he got involved in a sex scandal recently. As if all that wasn’t enough for him, Franck got himself out of the Champions League Final to be played in Madrid on May 22nd. Bayern of course will appeal the ban but it’s highly unlikely they will have any success in dropping the suspension.
