Euro 2024 Final Betting Guide: Spain v England Prediction

All good things must come to an end, and so does Euro 2024 with our Final betting guide and the most accurate Spain v England prediction for the big game on Sunday, July 14th. Without a doubt, Spain has been the best team in the tournament, playing the most enjoyable to watch brand of football led by the 63-year old head coach Luis de la Fuente. La Furia Roja have been the highest scoring team in the competition scoring in all six of their games bringing their goals tally to 11. Meanwhile, England have had a bumpy road filled with drama, but they’ve shown character, and they find a way to get the job done, which is not something we usually say for their national side. So who is going triumph at the Olimpiastadion in Berlin this Sunday? Find out in our very best Spain v England prediction and betting guide.

High-flying Spain Is Not Invincible

Everybody is high on Spain right now. They are the bookies’ favorites to win the trophy, and all of that is understandable given how they’ve played thus far. However, as football history has shown time and time again, it’s not always the best team that wins at the end. Especially when it comes to tournaments, there is plenty of room for surprises and illogical results. This is not a league trophy where each team plays 30+ games and eventually the best team wins due to the consistency that’s required. In tournaments like that, winners are decided in a single game where anything can happen as even the very best team can lose on a bad day.

On top of all that, Spain, for all the great performances they’ve displayed in Euro 2024, have weaknesses that the Brits can exploit. Most of all, Spain lack a legitimate goal scorer that can convert at least half of all the chances they create and be a real threat in the opponent’s penalty area. Alvaro Morata has scored just one goal thus far, and that speaks volumes given that he is the central forward of the highest scoring team in the competition fed by wingers such as Nico Williams and Yamal. He has never been a prolific goalscorer, has never passed the 25+ goal mark in his career, despite playing for clubs such as Real Madrid, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Chelsea.

So for all their high-flying acts, Spain has some chinks in their armor with a lackadaisical central forward supported by a couple of youngsters that lack the big game experience most of England’s players have. Overall, credit to Fuente for giving path to the youth, but this is indeed a very young Spanish side that might find themselves a bit overwhelmed by the big moment that’s coming their way. Aside from Rodri, there is not one big wordclass name in this Spanish lineup that’s capable of leading them.

England With Experience And Character

England have been fairly unconvincing thus far, aside from few flashes of brilliance here and there. However, if there is one thing they’ve shown is that they do have character and they keep their composure when things don’t go their way and fight till the very last second. Look no further than Beillingham’s 96th minute equalizer against Slovakia. Then there was also Saka’s leveller against Switzerland, and the fact they were finally able to win a penaly shootout, which is mainly a mind game.

There is no doubt that England have produced some of the most intruging games in Euro 2024 and have gone through a difficult path featuring loads of highlight moments.

Time For England to Triumph, finally?

The last time England won a major international trophy was back in 1966. Let me do the math for you. That’s exactly 58 years ago, and it’s actually their only trophy – a victory in the World Cup they hosted, and we all know how these home teams are backed up. For all their efforts, glorified club football, and their history, England have never won the European cup. That’s one of the craziest football facts ever, and I do believe it’s about time for this to change.
