Everyone expected all sorts of turmoil and difficulties, but Arne Slot has done a great job of taking over without forcing too many changes. Although the Reds did not make any summer signings, which is rather odd, the managed to keep their squad and that has provided the much-needed continuity and stability.
Salah And Diaz Firing On All Cylinders
There was a lot of talk over the summer about Salah possibly leaving the club, about him being done as a Liverpool player. The Egyptian king has started this season is great form, and he has already scored four goals in the Premier League, while also providing four assists. The other notable performer has been Luis Diaz, who has scored five goals in the Premier League, and all of them have been pure class.
Crystal Palace Looking For Improvement
Along with Southampton, Wolves, Leicester, and Ipswich, Crystal Palaces are among the five teams still looking for their first win of the season. German head coach Oliver Glasner enjoyed some great results when he took over in the middle of last season, but things have not carried over into 2024/25. With the way things are going, Roy Hodgson will be back by Christmas if Palace don’t start picking up wins in the upcoming weeks.
This Palace side has quality in attack with Jean-Philippe Mateta as the center forward and Eddie Nketiah and Eberechi Eze in support on the flanks.
This game is a quick turnaround for Liverpool as it’s an early kick off following a midweek game in the Champions League where they defeated Bologna by 2:0 at Anfield. Despite underperforming thus far, Palace usually put up a good fight against the big teams, and I can see them causing the Reds problems this Saturday.
