Liverpool take on PSG in the second leg of their Champions League clash at Anfield tonight, March 11, 2025. It’s certainly the most anticipated game of this round. Based on what we saw in the first one, there will be plenty of fireworks and drama. The first game was an absolute shocker. PSG dominated for nearly the entire 90 minutes, and missed a dozen chances. Liverpool’s keeper Alisson had the game of his life making safe after safe. All the bets were on over 2.5 goals as bookmakers and fans alike expected a goal fest. Yet, the final scoreline had a lot of betters losing loads of money. The Parisians ultimately failed to score only for the Reds to come up with a goal late in the game. The end result defied all logic, and yet we all know that football can be a cruel game at times.
“Football was unfair. We will fix that.”
The stats from the first game really put things into perspective. PSG had 28 shots at goal and 65% of the possession. In comparison, Slot’s men had just 2 shots at goal all evening. Harvey Elliot scored with just three minutes left to play with their only effort on target. It was just one of “those nights”. In his post match interview, Arne Slot said that even the draw would have been a lucky result for his team. Image what that win must have felt for them. It was an absolute steal.

A Liverpool Team For the Ages
Yet, make no mistake, Liverpool are probably the best team in Europe right now. They rode their luck in France, but sometimes you make your own luck. The Reds finished first in the league phase of this new Champions League format. On top of that, Liverpool have now defeated the champions of France, Germany, Spain, and England without conceding a single goal! Mind you, this has all happened in this season alone. On Feb 23, 2025, Liverpool defeated Man City by 0:2 at the Etihad completely dominating the game, although it was a Premier League fixture. On Matchday 4 of the Champions League, Pool smashed Bayer Leverkused by 4:0. On Matchday 5, the Reds put two past Real Madrid at Anfield and Los Blancos could not even score one.
An Open Game Is Expected

Given that PSG deserved to score at least a couple of goals in the first leg, it would be really difficult for the Reds to keep them at bay for a second straight match. Luis Enrique said his team will go “all out” at Anfield as they have nothing left to lose. PSG will try to score right away knowing that a single goal is all that’s needed for them to turn things around. The odds on the Parisians to score the opener are at about 2.10 (decimal), so that’s a decent betting pick. Still, the are a lot better betting offers tonight. The value is certainly on PSG to qualify, which is offered at about 3.75. Based on the fact that actually deserved to win the first game, luck could be on their side this time around and seeing them win at Anfield is not such a stretch.
All in all, I firmly believe PSG will score at least once at Anfield tonight, and the home team should get on the score sheet as well. This should set us up for a Goal/Goal type of game. The bookies are well aware of that, however, and the odds are quite low at 1.50 on Both Teams to Score.
A good bet on Liverpool v PSG is to wait for the odds to increase on the live action, and then goal after the goals. Of course, you are running the risk of leaving empty handed in the event of an early goal. Speaking ahead of the match, Slot outlined that PSG are one of their toughest opponents due to the intensity with which they play combined with their quality. He also pointed out that they are one of the richest clubs in the world and also have a great manager.
Liverpool v PSG Prediction
My money is on the goals in this one. The result from the first leg was certainly unfair and the visitors will go out determined to make amends. This should set up an open match with chances at both ends. The odds are currently low for Over 2.5 goals and Both teams to Score. Thus, my tip is to wait on the live action, and go after these markets once the odds cross the 1.80 mark.
