The President of Bayern Munich Karl-Heinz Rummenigge made it absolutely clear that the German side have no intentions on selling their French star. Here is what Rummenigge said in an interview for Bild magazine:
“We will have talks with Franck regarding his contract in the next few weeks. Our goal is quite clear as we want to extend his current contract. However, if we failt to reach an agreement, it doesn’t necessarily mean that we will sell him at the end of the summer. We want a strong team again for the next season and Franck is an integral part of our starting lineup. Bayern want to be successful again both in Europe and domestically next term. Ribery plays a massive role in our plans I can’t see him leave the club before 2011.”
This statement should cool down Real Madrid’s attempts of luring in the Frenchman to their star-studded team. Barcelona on the other hand are also interested in the winger.
